Centre Membership
The Centre for Information Policy Leadership is a policy development organization located in the law firm of Hunton & Williams LLP. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., with an international presence and global reach, the Centre is a leader in initiatives to develop solutions to information policy issues that are practical, innovative and grounded in a deep understanding of technology and evolving business processes. The Centre's member companies include leading organizations in healthcare, information services, technology, financial services and retail and consumer products. Each of these companies recognize the need for thoughtful, forward-thinking solutions for a rapidly changing, information-intensive business environment. Membership to the Centre demonstrates the companies' leadership positions in their industries and affords opportunities for policy development, networking, information exchange and a prominent role in public forums in Washington and around the world.
The Centre's work is funded exclusively by member organizations. The Centre's projects require extensive time commitments by the Centre's talented staff, member organizations and Hunton & Williams LLP's Global Privacy and Cybersecurity practice. Policymaker education requires travel and related expenditures. To support its mission the Centre has created four levels of membership.
Executive Membership
Executive members contribute $50,000 to the Centre annually. Executive members shape the Centre's agenda, participate in all projects and policymaker education and confer regularly with the Centre's executive director on project-related issues. They also participate in the annual membership retreat and monthly "First Friday Calls." Representatives from Executive Member companies are eligible to be elected to the five-person Executive Committee which directs the short and long-term priorities of the Centre. Executive Members collaborate extensively with other Centre Executive Members, and use knowledge they have gained thru that collaboration to improve their company’s information management business processes.
Sustaining Membership
Sustaining members contribute $30,000 to the Centre annually to support the Centre's mission. They participate in the "First Friday Calls' and may actively participate in all core projects. Sustaining Members are also invited to the Centre's annual membership retreat.
