This is an ongoing project that examines how stakeholders can interpret privacy requirements alongside seemingly incompatible and competing cybersecurity obligations through collaborative analysis, developing practical compliance frameworks, and understanding evolving enforcement expectations across the EU and globally. This project is focused on helping industry navigate overlapping obligations, resolving the tensions between privacy and security requirements, and facilitating constructive dialogue with regulators and industry.
  • Children’s Project
Our Children’s Privacy & Safety Project is focused on advancing practical, accountable approaches to children’s online experiences. • AI Project
Our Artificial Intelligence (AI) Project encompasses a range of projects aimed at advancing practical, accountable approaches to the development, deployment, and governance of AI. Through expert roundtables, multi-stakeholder dialogue, and in-depth research, CIPL examines how existing legal frameworks apply in practice, identifies areas of tension or uncertainty, and develops risk-based, operational solutions for responsible AI governance. This workstream translates high-level principles into practical guidance that builds trust, enhances legal clarity, and fosters global AI innovation.

  • Simplification Project
Our EU Simplification Project brings together Members, policymakers, regulators, academics, and civil society to address fragmentation and overlapping obligations across the GDPR, AI Act, DSA, DMA, Data Act and ePrivacy framework.
