Jasmine Byrne Joins CIPL as Senior Children’s Data & Safety Advisor

We are delighted to welcome Jasmina Byrne as Senior Children’s Data & Safety Advisor at the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL).

Jasmina brings more than 25 years of international leadership and expertise at the intersection of technology, policy, children’s rights, and digital governance. Most recently, she served as Chief of Foresight and Policy at UNICEF’s Global Office of Research and Foresight in New York, where she established and led UNICEF’s global foresight and policy function, advancing innovative approaches to artificial intelligence, data governance, digital public infrastructure, and emerging technologies.

Throughout her distinguished career, Jasmina has been recognized as a global leader in developing forward-looking policy frameworks that promote responsible innovation while safeguarding human rights. She has authored and led influential work on AI governance, children’s data protection, digital transformation, ethical technology policy, and age-appropriate digital design, working closely with governments, international organizations, academia, and industry leaders around the world.

Her career has been dedicated to translating evidence-based research into practical policy solutions that improve outcomes for children and society. She has consistently championed children’s rights and well-being by helping shape global policy on AI, digital technologies, data governance, and online safety.

As CIPL’s Senior Children’s Data & Safety Advisor, Jasmina will lead and support the CIPL’s thought leadership on children’s privacy, children’s data governance, online safety, the EU Age Appropriate Design Code, AI governance, and responsible innovation. Her deep expertise in strategic foresight and global policy development will strengthen CIPL’s work in advancing practical, forward-looking approaches to privacy, data governance, and emerging technologies.
