Privacy and Digital Policy Analyst
Brishailah Brown
Brishailah is the Centre for Information Policy Leadership’s Privacy and Digital Policy Analyst, where she focuses on data protection, AI governance, and cross-border data flows.
She brings a unique blend of legal expertise, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement to successfully navigate complex data governance challenges. Previously, she served as an International Attorney at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Office of General Counsel, guiding international trade cases from petition through litigation. She also worked as a Program Manager for Microsoft’s Digital Diplomacy and Global Cybersecurity Policy teams, developing AI risk assessment frameworks and advising on cybersecurity policy and regulatory compliance. Her experience spans roles in all three branches of government, including the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means, the U.S. Department of State’s Office of the Legal Adviser, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Brishailah graduated from American University Washington College of Law, where she focused on international economic law. She also earned an MA in International Affairs from American University’s School of International Service and a BA in Political Science and International and Comparative Politics from the University of Central Florida.
